Gujarat NRE Coking Coal Limited (GNCCL) is a subsidiary of Gujarat NRE Coke Limited, the largest independent manufacturer of Low Ash Metallurgical Coke (Met Coke) in India. GNCCL was incorporated in October 2004, and is involved in mining, and marketing of world class coking coal products. The company’s shares are listed and actively traded at Australian Securities Exchange (ASX - Code: GNM). The Company owns and operates the 2 coking coal mines, NRE No1 Colliery and NRE Wongawilli colliery  having JORC compliant reseves and resources of about 125MT and 652 MT respectively.

NRE No. 1 Colliery, spreading over 6421 hector with Jorc compliant reserves/resources of over 92/315 million tonnes of coking coal is located in the Southern Coalfields of New South Wales, Australia. NRE Wongawilli Colliery is formed by the consolidation of NRE Avondale Colliery, and the Elouera colliery  has JORC cpmpliant reserves/resources of about 33/337 million tonnes. Both the mines are located in proximity to the relatively uncongested Kembla Port Terminal in the Southern Coalfields of the New South Wales Coalfields, making it logistically convenient for all export operations. These coal leases give GNCCL the rights for carrying out the various mining and exploration activities in the various coal seams located within the leases namely Bulli seam, Balgownie seam, Wongawilli seam and Tongara seam.

GNCCL has invested significant amount for brown field development of the mines, and is working to emerge as one of the largest coking coal producers in Australia. The Collieries are being developed like a completely new mine employing the best of human resources and high quality infrastructure  to progressively increase run of the mine production to 6 million tonnes per annum by 2015. GNCCL is well integrated in the local Illawarra community as a conscious corporate citizen.
