Manager of Mechanical Engineering
The Manager of Mechanical Engineering will be responsible for ensuring mining equipment and infrastructure operates safely at specified efficiency and in accordance with relevant legislative and statutory requirements.
Gujarat NRE Minerals Ltd (GNML) are seeking a Manager of Mechanical Engineering at one of their underground coal mines on the South Coast of New South Wales. For the successful candidate, this will be a unique and exciting roll to be a part team involved in the expansion of existing operations into a world class 4Mtpa mine.
The position will have overall statutory and mechanical engineering responsibility for the mine. This includes safety, engineering strategy and financial management of the Dept. The role reports to the Mine Manager.
Applicants must have the following:
- Minimum 3 years experience as a Mechanical Engineer, or 2 years as a Manager of Mechanical Engineering in an underground mine;
- Supervisory or management experience
- Excellent analytical and problem solving skills, as well as strong communication skills
- Tertiary qualification, degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering, or similar;
- Mechanical Certificate of Competency from the Department of Mineral Resources.

Gujarat NRE Minerals Ltd (GNML) are seeking Undermanagers at their Wongawilli Mine on the South Coast of New South Wales. For the successful candidate, this will be a unique and exciting roll to be a part team involved in the expansion of existing operations into a world class 4Mtpa mine.
The position will have overall responsibility for a shift at the mine site. Duties include ensuring best practice safety, people management and the delivery of production plans.
Experience required
- NSW Underground Second Class Certificate of Competency.
- Minimum 5 years experience in u/g coal mining.
- Proven experience and success delivering outcomes in safety, people management and productivity.
- Personal attributes include well developed interpersonal skills, self motivation and commitment to task.

Longwall Coordinator
Currently a vacancy exists for a Longwall Coordinator to run the Longwall operation at NRE Wongawilli Colliery. This person will be responsible for meeting the company’s safety, production and financial targets in Longwall production.The position will report to the NRE Wongawilli Production Manager.
Experience required
- Must hold a Second Class Mine Manager's Certificate of Competency;
- Skilled in creating and maintaining a safe working environment;
- Sound problem solving and decision-making skills that avoids risk and delay;
- Have the ability to work effectively as part of a team - coordinate and cooperate with peers, engineers and shift managers and statutory officers on shift;
- Must have held the position of Deputy, Undermanager, Coordinator or higher for at least two years.
- Strong exposure to longwall mining methods;
- Strong communication and supervisory skills.
